Belarus changes rules for private home construction: neighbor's consent no longer sufficient
In Belarus, new rules for private home construction have been introduced: a neighbor's notarized consent can no longer be used to reduce the required setback. A new residential house must now be located at least 3 meters from the neighboring plot boundary, and utility buildings at least 2 meters away. Previously, these distances could be reduced with a neighbor's notarized agreement. This option has now been取消. For already constructed houses, any reconstruction must not increase the building's dimensions toward the neighboring plot.
