Belarus Establishes Academy of Intellectual Technologies for Advanced Training in Science and Digital Fields
The President signed a decree on the establishment of the Academy of Intellectual Technologies. Starting September 1, 2027, the Academy will train specialists in natural sciences, industrial and digital technologies, and other promising fields. A unique selection process in the format of a national competition will be used for admissions, open to school graduates, college and university students, enterprise specialists, and scientists. Preliminary rounds will be held in Minsk, regional centers, and major cities. Applicants must present a creative idea, development, invention, or rational proposal. The final selection stage will be an intensive practical course at the Academy, involving individual and group assignments, public project defense, and an internal entrance exam. Leading scientists, educators, and experienced enterprise leaders and practitioners will be involved in the educational process. Special approaches will apply to training programs, which may be adjusted based on industry needs. Students will be able to choose specialized courses, related specializations, or majors. Training will include on-site education at enterprises solving real production tasks, as well as group and individual project and research activities, aimed at producing market-ready, commercially viable outcomes. Experimental curricula and advanced teaching methods tested at the Academy will be introduced into other educational institutions to improve overall training quality. Upon completion, students will take a state exam and defend a startup project or applied research work. The Academy’s activities will be coordinated and monitored by a supervisory board chaired by the Minister of Education, including heads of sectoral ministries, agencies, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, and the High-Tech Park. The Academy aims to create a flexible, interdisciplinary scientific and educational environment focused on practical results and integrated into real economic processes according to national needs.
