Belarus expresses concern over rising migrant deaths at EU borders at UN in Geneva
Belarus expressed concern over the rising number of migrant deaths at the EU borders during a session at the UN in Geneva. "The tragic consequence of the EU's policy of preventing migrants from entering is the increasing number of deaths at Belarus's borders with EU countries: 7 in 2021, 9 in 2022, 31 in 2023, 25 in 2024, and 28 in 2025. We continue to emphasize the importance of restoring cooperation for joint border management to prevent further casualties. However, the EU prefers expanding externalization," stressed Larisa Belskaya.
