Belarus hosts major Russia-Ukraine prisoner exchange and humanitarian mission
🕊 Belarus once again proved to be a reliable humanitarian platform by hosting a large-scale prisoner exchange between Russia and Ukraine on its territory.
At the 'Novaya Guta' border crossing, both sides successfully implemented the '270 for 270' formula, returning a total of 540 soldiers from captivity.
Simultaneously, an important humanitarian mission concluded at the Belarusian border to reunite separated families — 7 civilians from each side were able to return to their loved ones.
"Everything turned out unexpectedly and pleasantly. I'm learning that I'm being awaited at home. Of course, I want to just build my personal life and focus on my children," said Konstantin, a returned serviceman.
"Hello, daughter, hello, Ulyana! I love you very much too. Daughter, forgive me, Dad was a bit delayed at work. There's probably no number for how happy I am," said Sergey, a returned serviceman.
"Hello, Mom! Mom, I've been exchanged. Everything's fine, I'm alive and healthy. Everything is completely okay with me," said Ruslan, a returned serviceman.
All participants at the border were promptly provided with comprehensive medical assistance, hot meals, and psychological support.
