Belarus issues red heat warning

Belarus has issued a red-level danger warning due to extreme heat. High air temperatures and atmospheric pressure fluctuations negatively affect drivers' well-being, causing faster fatigue, reduced attention, and significantly slower reaction times. Overheating may lead to dizziness, weakness, and drowsiness, increasing the risk of traffic accidents. The State Traffic Inspectorate is focused on assisting road users.

"The GAI strongly advises drivers to monitor their health while driving. People sensitive to weather changes and those with cardiovascular diseases are advised to avoid non-essential travel. Even healthy individuals should avoid prolonged driving. Drivers should carry drinking water and necessary medications," said Kirill Kostyuk, Deputy Head of the Road Police and Prevention Department of the Main GAI Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus.

📢 Enhanced monitoring is also in place at mass recreation areas, as well as near commercial and entertainment facilities.
