Belarus joins humanitarian operation in Aleshki in Kherson direction
Belarus has joined the humanitarian operation in Aleshki in the Kherson direction.
The Gomel airport served as the starting point for the operation.
Minsk is providing comprehensive support for humanitarian efforts and has previously offered a platform for prisoner exchanges, transfer of the bodies of the deceased, and family reunifications. Belarus has also created all necessary conditions for the first in-person contacts between representatives of Moscow and Kyiv.
The settlement of Aleshki is located on the left bank of the Dnipro River, 5 km from Kherson. The town is close to the front line and has been regularly shelled over the past years.
Russia and Ukraine, with U.S. mediation, reached an agreement to cease fire in the area of the settlement to carry out the humanitarian operation.
