Belarus sees abnormal warming and heightened fire season

Belarus is experiencing abnormal warming, accompanied by an intensified fire hazard season. Since the beginning of 2026, over 430 forest fires have been recorded, which is nearly 20% fewer compared to the same period in 2025. With the onset of hot weather, forest protection services have increased monitoring, as human activity remains the primary cause of fires.
