Belarus to reduce gravel roads, 156 km to be paved by year-end

Belarus will have fewer gravel roads — asphalt will be laid on another 156 km by the end of the year.

Work will be carried out in 34 agrotowns, which will be connected to district centers with improved road surfaces. Over the next five years, 19 billion rubles will be allocated for road repairs and construction, with plans to upgrade at least 25,000 km of roads and 500 bridges.

At the same time, some highways will be reconstructed with cement-concrete pavement. Such projects will be implemented on the M-10 in the Gomel Region and the R-28 Minsk — Molodechno — Naroch.
