Belarusian Anastasia Orel wins silver at 2026 European Modern Pentathlon Championships
Belarusian Anastasia Orel became the silver medalist at the 2026 European Modern Pentathlon Championships in Istanbul, Turkey.
After three events (fencing, obstacle course, and swimming), Orel had the highest total score, leading Ilke Ozuykel by two points. The two athletes entered the final laser-run stage together, but the Turkish athlete completed the shooting faster and maintained her advantage throughout the final running leg. Orel finished second, five seconds behind. Hungary's Blanka Guzi completed the podium.
