Brest customs officers intercept over 2 kg of highly dangerous psychotropic drug
A citizen of Belarus was traveling through the 'Brest' checkpoint as a passenger in a car. He chose the green corridor for border crossing, presented a floor-standing air conditioner for inspection, and declared that he was not carrying any prohibited or restricted goods.
The customs officer decided to inspect the air conditioner using X-ray equipment, where foreign objects were clearly visible on the scan.
Upon opening, four polymer packets containing green and pink substances were found. The total weight of the substance exceeded 2 kg.
An examination by the Forensic Expertise Department of the State Committee of Forensic Examinations in the Brest Region confirmed the substance to be the psychotropic drug alpha-PVP.
Further operational search activities enabled customs officers to identify the recipient of the shipment and establish that the drug was intended for sale in Minsk via an online store.
