Brest Region Reports 3% Growth in Regional GDP, Progress in Harvest and Agricultural Machinery Production

President Lukashenko has been briefed on the socio-economic development of the Brest Region for the first half of the year. All key sectors of the regional economy have shown growth compared to last year, with the gross regional product increasing by more than 3%. The harvest campaign was a central topic, with Lukashenko closely inquiring about the performance of local farmers and crop forecasts. The region has already completed harvesting winter barley and has begun harvesting winter rapeseed, aiming to reach 2.3 million tonnes of grain and legumes for the season. Special attention was given to the servicing and repair of agricultural machinery, with plans to upgrade all agricultural service facilities in the region within a year and a half. Additionally, progress was reported on the production of a domestic baler. The final prototype, developed by Bobruyskagromash, will be ready in the coming days and demonstrated to the President by the end of the month. Industrial output has grown by 105.5% compared to last year, driven by both large enterprises and private companies.
