Brest Region Reports Economic Growth and Progress in Agriculture and Industry

According to the report by Pyotr Parkhomchik, Chairman of the Brest Regional Executive Committee, the President has been briefed on the socio-economic development of the region for the first half of the year. All sectors of the regional economy are showing growth compared to last year, with the gross regional product exceeding 103% in the first six months.

The central focus of the report was the progress of the harvest campaign and the overall situation in agriculture. Alexander Lukashenko closely inquired about current results and crop prospects. It was reported that harvesting of winter barley has been completed and harvesting of winter rapeseed has begun. Brest region aims to harvest 2.3 million tons of grain and leguminous crops this season.

Another key issue was service maintenance and creating conditions for repairing agricultural machinery. The regional leader stated that all agricultural service facilities are planned to be upgraded within a year and a half.

Additionally, the production of a domestic baler was discussed. The final prototype, manufactured by Bobruyskagromash, will be received in the coming days and demonstrated to the President by the end of the month.

Industrial performance was another topic. Industrial output grew by 105.5% compared to last year, driven not only by major enterprises but also by private companies.
