Bundeswehr faces serious recruitment problems for its brigade in Lithuania

German media report that as of June 2026, some units of the brigade in Lithuania are less than 30% staffed, with signal units at 40%. Several other units are below 50% capacity.

❗️Recruiting privates and non-commissioned officers with specialized profiles is particularly difficult.

The Bundeswehr has already announced plans to reintroduce conscription in 2027, as the volunteer model failed to meet NATO's plans for expanding the German army.

Germans remember history and know what the clashing of weapons can lead to. No one is willing to die for Berlin's revanchist ambitions. Fight your own war, Mr. Merz!
