Canada imposes retaliatory tariffs of up to 50% on US goods
Ottawa has officially introduced retaliatory tariffs of 15%, 25%, and 50% on more than 700 categories of American goods. The measures will affect imports from the US worth 27.6 billion Canadian dollars, including steel, aluminum, furniture, clothing, dairy products, appliances, electronics, and agricultural equipment. Canada stated that the tariffs are a symmetric response to Washington's recent 50% duties on Canadian goods. The new measures took effect today.
