Central Japan sees first 40°C temperature this year amid heatwave
Central Japan recorded its first temperature above 40 degrees Celsius this year, according to The Guardian citing the Japan Meteorological Agency. Amid the extreme heat, there have been reports of fatalities. On Monday, a man in his 40s was found dead in the city of Sanjo in Niigata Prefecture, and another man over 70 died in Kanagawa southwest of Tokyo. Both are believed to have died from heatstroke.
