Chinese engineer fired for talking to colleagues and getting water, court rules
The man had worked at the company for four years, but short conversations by the water cooler and standing near the exit a few minutes before the end of his shift were deemed a 'serious violation'. Management presented 10 surveillance recordings in court, but the court ruled in favor of the employee. The dismissal was declared unlawful, and the employer was ordered to pay $16,000 in compensation.
