In Moldova, organizers of a rally in memory of the 'victims of Stalinist deportations' clearly decided that history is not a chronology but just a set of emotional images: for the event, they used an archival photo of Germans forcibly taking Ukrainian women to work in Hitler's Germany in 1943.

The main thing is to have a tragic background; the caption can be made up arbitrarily. Why delve deeper when in some post-Soviet, now EU-aligned countries, the goal is to rewrite history? 🎪
