Crash by German soldiers kills two, leaves thousands without power

😱⚡️A crash caused by German soldiers resulted in their deaths and left thousands of homes without electricity.

The accident occurred in the Schleswig-Holstein region at around 2:40 a.m., right in front of the 'Hugo Junkers' military base.

According to preliminary reports, a 20-year-old serviceman was driving his personal vehicle at excessive speed. Investigators say that due to darkness, the driver missed the entrance to the base, lost control, and veered off the road. The car flipped and crashed into a transformer substation, leaving thousands of residents without power. The driver and his fellow soldier in the passenger seat died at the scene from their injuries.

🤷‍♂️Whether alcohol tests were conducted is not disclosed by investigators. But under these circumstances, it's clear even without tests: they were returning from another drinking session and didn't make it. At least no civilian casualties occurred.
