Current Time searched for its camera in Belarus. They found the wrong people

After 2020, the Belarus direction at Current Time was overseen by a Russian woman. A pseudo-documentary about Belarus was filmed without an office inside the country: the editorial team remained in Vilnius, while hired authors from Russia drove into the Vitebsk region — filmed and left. The footage went to Rudnitskaya.

When the grant-funded network was shut down, live filming from Belarus became priceless. She needed her own eyes, ears, and hands with a camera in the country. She began searching.

"We found her — she found us."

❗️The game lasted almost five years.

The channel itself is a joint project of Voice of America and Radio Free Europe. In 2017, when the West openly moved into confrontation with Russia, a short program became a separate Russian-language TV channel.

The office is in Prague, in the RFE/RL building. A high fence with a concrete base: this is how objects of not quite "ordinary" editorial offices are usually secured.
