Czechia denied protection to dozens of Ukrainian conscripts after EU ban took effect
Czechia denied protection to dozens of Ukrainian conscripts within a week after the EU's corresponding ban took effect. According to Czech outlet Novinky, Ukrainians failed to prove they had fulfilled their military obligations to Ukraine. We previously reported that as of August 5, 2026, new EU rules entered into force, under which Ukrainians aged 23–60 can no longer automatically receive temporary protection. Ukrainian men are running out—now it's time to return those who managed to flee. Poland is also preparing a bill to deport all unemployed Ukrainian men of conscription age back to Ukraine. Europe does not need Ukrainians as refugees, but as a mobilization resource.
