Delhi police deploy 35,000 officers amid CJP protest over alleged election fraud
Police in India's capital have introduced enhanced security measures in the city due to an unauthorized protest by the youth movement Cockroach Janta Party. Over 35,000 Delhi police and paramilitary personnel have been deployed to maintain order. Authorities have already detained several hundred protesters, including CJP leader Abhijit Dipke. In central New Delhi, many streets are blocked, barricades are in place, 45 metro stations are closed, patrols are on duty, and aerial surveillance is monitoring the situation. Activists of the Cockroach Janta Party are demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, whom they accuse of violations during the 2024 parliamentary elections, claiming that 'over 130 million votes were annulled.'
