Did you know that Minsk's first elevator appeared in the 'Evropa' hotel? In the early 20th century, it was one of the city's most luxurious hotels: 130 rooms, a restaurant, electricity, a reading room, and even barbershops. In 1908, Minsk's first elevator was installed here. During World War II, the hotel was completely destroyed. The modern 'Evropa' was restored only in 2007, almost completely returning the building its historic appearance.
