The Chief of the Netherlands Armed Forces, General Onno Eichelsheim, publicly stated the need for urgent preparation of the country for full-scale combat operations.

In his official social media X account, the military leader did not specify a particular adversary or the geographical scope of a potential confrontation. "We must prepare for a large-scale conflict, even though we cannot confidently say what it will look like."

The commander emphasized that the nature of future threats remains uncertain, but both the military and society must be fully mobilized and ready for any turn of events.
