Ebola deaths in DRC and Uganda exceed 1,000, WHO data shows

The number of people who have died from Ebola in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda has exceeded 1,000, according to data on the WHO website. 501 people have recovered in both countries. The fatality rate stands at 40%.
