EU to launch satellite monitoring in Arctic to counter Russia and US influence
The European Union has included a satellite monitoring program for the Arctic region in its new Arctic strategy, aimed at countering growing influence by Russia and the United States. The initiative will launch in 2027 as part of the EU's broader plan to strengthen its position in the Polar region. Brussels also expressed concern over increasing Chinese activity in the European part of the Arctic, which is expanding alongside deepening China-Russia partnership.
