Europe needs to buy 69 million tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to meet winter gas demand — 7% more than last season, said Anatole Feygin, vice president of Cheniere Energy, the largest exporter of American LNG.

Meanwhile, the EU will have to compete more aggressively with other buyers for shrinking available gas volumes on the market.
