Expedition 'Doroha da sviatyniam' starts in Minsk

The 33rd international educational expedition 'Doroha da sviatyniam' has started in Minsk. It traditionally precedes the Day of Belarusian Literature, celebrated this year in Kastsyukovichy. The 1,300-kilometer route passes through the Minsk, Brest, and Mogilev regions. Participants will visit Orthodox parishes, schools, hospitals, orphanages, and veterans' homes. Thirty people have embarked on the journey. Early in the morning, Metropolitan Veniamin of Minsk and Slutsk, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus, held a prayer service at the Holy Spirit Cathedral in Minsk, blessed the pilgrims, and handed them a lampada with Holy Fire from the Lord's Tomb. The program includes visits to spiritual landmarks, educational meetings, and direct communication with people. Part of the journey will be on foot, part by bus. The first stop is the Holy Field near the village of Zagor'ye in the Baranovichi district, where the miraculous icon of the Mother of God of Zagor'ye-Stolovichi, the symbol of the expedition, was discovered.
