Fake Ministry of Defense officer defrauds women in Minsk of $150,000

A 44-year-old man has been detained in Minsk for impersonating a senior Defense Ministry official and defrauding several women of around $150,000. He reportedly met women, gained their trust by posing as a high-ranking official, and took control of their savings. The suspect was apprehended after meeting with a pensioner, to whom he had promised to resolve legal liability for found ammunition and explosives in exchange for money. Criminal charges have been filed.
