Final stage of the agricultural season in Belarus
Minister of Agriculture and Food Yuriy Gorlov: Farmers have entered the final stretch — by early autumn, 99.8% of grain and legume crops had already been harvested. Total grain threshing, including rapeseed, buckwheat, and millet, has already exceeded 9.1 million tons, and the final figure is forecast to exceed 9.2 million tons.
Current efforts are focused on harvesting buckwheat, millet, and spring rapeseed, as well as promptly clearing fields of straw and active plowing.
At the same time, large-scale sowing for next year's harvest is underway — farmers are to sow 1.5 million hectares of winter crops.
Alongside grain, harvesting of potatoes, sugar beets, and vegetables is in full swing. Special attention is being paid to fulfilling state orders: by November 15, vegetables of the 'borscht set' must be fully stocked in stabilization reserves.
September is the most intense month for farmers, requiring maximum responsibility and adherence to all technological details to ensure the country's food security.
