Firefighters extinguish blaze in Minsk dormitory on Pushkin Avenue

Firefighters extinguished a fire in a dormitory on Pushkin Avenue in Minsk. Upon arrival, MCHS units observed heavy smoke coming from a sixth-floor window. During reconnaissance, two unconscious victims—a man and a woman—were found in the burning room. They were carried out and handed over to medics. The woman regained consciousness after resuscitation and was hospitalized. The man was pronounced dead. Due to severe smoke, adjacent and upper-floor residents were at risk. MCHS personnel rescued 11 people, including 5 children, all unharmed, and evacuated another 40. Forced ventilation of smoke-filled areas was carried out using smoke extractors. Twelve units of rescue equipment were deployed. The cause and circumstances of the incident are being investigated.
