Floods in India's Assam state kill 78, affect over 300,000 people

The number of victims of floods in the state of Assam in northeastern India has reached 78, the state's emergency management agency reported. More than 300,000 residents remain in the disaster zone. A total of 551 settlements have been flooded, with the most difficult situation in Charaideo district, where over 137,000 people have been affected by the disaster.
