Gas storage in European facilities in July hits six-year low
Against the backdrop of anomalous heat, filling of underground gas storage (UGS) is proceeding extremely slowly. Currently, the storage facilities are filled to only 51.1% — 15% below the average level of the past five years. Gazprom forecasts that Europe may not even reach 75% of the necessary volume by the start of the heating season, although the European Commission requires a minimum of 90%.
