Germany allows plant in Lingen to produce Russian-type nuclear fuel
Germany has permitted the plant in Lingen (Lower Saxony) to produce nuclear fuel of Russian design. The facility, Advanced Nuclear Fuels (part of French Framatome), will be able to manufacture hexagonal fuel rods using Rosatom's 'TVEL' technology. However, employees of Russian companies are completely banned from entering the plant, and all equipment and software must undergo independent verification and be isolated from the rest of the infrastructure.
