Germany sees rise in registered child sexual abuse cases over five years

Over the past five years, Germany has seen an increase in the number of registered cases of sexual violence against children. In 2025, police recorded 17,126 cases—approximately 1,600 more than in 2021. Among the victims were 13,870 girls and 4,866 boys.
