Global cancer cases could nearly double by 2050 without urgent action

The number of new cancer cases worldwide could nearly double by 2050 if countries do not take urgent measures to strengthen prevention, early diagnosis, and treatment, according to the Global Cancer Outlook 2026 report by the World Health Organization and the International Agency for Research on Cancer, published on the UN News Centre website.
