Gomel Region Report: Harvest Completion, Uzbekistan Projects, and Workforce Discipline

The report by Gomel Oblispolkom Chairman Ivan Krupko focused on the completion of the harvest and sowing of winter crops, joint investment projects with partners from Uzbekistan, and workforce management. The head of state was informed that the harvest of grain, legumes, and rapeseed has been fully completed, with a total yield of 1.09 million tons. Including the upcoming corn harvest for grain, agricultural producers expect to reach about 1.5 million tons. Combined with silage corn, this will fully meet the needs of animal and poultry farming. Increased attention is being paid to forage harvesting, including fulfilling the President’s task to increase volumes on floodplain meadows. Sowing of winter crops has begun, with sufficient supplies of quality seeds and fuel. Alexander Lukashenko emphasized the importance of discipline, noting it is essential in every sphere. Krupko reported that special commissions have been established to send negligent workers to military training, as per the President’s instruction. Selected individuals have been drafted into the army, and this practice has shown positive results, with improved discipline among those called up. Another key topic was the development of cooperation between the Gomel region and regions of Uzbekistan. Trade turnover is growing dynamically, but the focus now is shifting from trade to joint projects and investment collaboration. Specific plans for cooperation in the agro-industrial sector are already in place.
