Growth Points in Belarus-Ulyanovsk Region Ties Discussed by Lukashenko and Russkikh

Growth points in relations between Belarus and the Ulyanovsk region, highlighted during Alexander Lukashenko's meeting with Alexei Russkikh:

Aircraft manufacturing: "This is very important for us. No other country shares the expertise they possess. Our repair of aircraft and armored vehicles dates back to Soviet times. But it's time to move from repair to production. We are already doing a lot, producing components and parts for you. We are ready to modernize production and deepen cooperation."

Microelectronics: "What we produce today — electronics, chips, optics — all this originates from Soviet times. But we have brought it to a global level. Demand for this product is high across all sectors. This shows we are using and will continue to use past experience while developing new areas."

Engineering: "We have moved from basic mechanisms to developing machinery with electric drive. I am pleased to see BELAZ — powerful equipment. We produced the most powerful BELAZ — 450 tons (nearly 10 railway cars loaded). On electric drive. Russians asked for a version on gas motor fuel — we made this BELAZ too."

Oil refining: "It turns out our oil industry is in demand in the Russian Federation. We are moving forward. We agreed with Vladimir Vladimirovich that Gazprom will join the project to build a nitrogen plant."
