Harvest campaign in Vitebsk region nears completion with 950,000 tons of grain threshed

The harvest campaign in the Vitebsk region is nearing completion, with 950,000 tons of grain threshed. Crop yields remain at last year's level, and the region is approaching the one-million-ton mark, maintaining a high work pace.

Favorable weather conditions are critical to fully complete harvesting, requiring just two good weather days. However, recent heavy rains in the Vitebsk region have created unfavorable conditions for farmers. Despite this, officials remain confident that the work will be successfully completed.

During a report to the President, special attention was given to agricultural product processing. In the meat processing sector, full agreement has been reached on future development directions.

A notable example is the partnership between Dzerzhinsky Agro-Complex and Orsha Meat Processing Plant. This collaboration has demonstrated a tenfold increase in the plant's profit while maintaining previous production volumes, highlighting significant potential for further growth.

During the Prime Minister’s visit to the facility, decisions were made to increase production of baby food and animal feed, deepening processing and increasing product value. The Dzerzhinsky Agro-Complex has also begun operations at the Vitebsk Meat Processing Plant.

Reconstruction of the Polotsk Dairy Plant is actively underway. Additionally, in line with the President’s directive to cooperate with the company 'Savushkin Product', a project is being implemented and is expected to be completed by the first quarter of next year. Upon completion, the region will host the most modern production facility in the country.

A development strategy for the sector up to 2030 has been formulated in the region. Timely payments for raw materials and fair pricing are expected to motivate producers. Officials believe this program will give the entire processing sector a fundamentally new impetus and significantly improve the situation in the region's agricultural sector.
