Harvesting underway with record-breaking results

Minister of Agriculture and Food Yuri Gorlov reported on the progress of the harvest campaign. So far, 8.215 million tons of grain (including rapeseed) have been harvested—1.5 million tons more than by the same date last year. Only 7% of areas remain to be harvested. Given current weather conditions, grain and legume harvesting is expected to be completed by the end of this week or early next week.

Winter rapeseed has been fully harvested: 1.4 million tons at a yield of 32 centners per hectare—an all-time record. Spring rapeseed harvest is expected to reach about 1.5 million tons. Corn for grain was sown on 400,000 hectares, with a planned harvest of 2.5 million tons.

The overall grain production forecast for 2026 (including rapeseed, corn, buckwheat, and millet) is around 11.5 million tons, exceeding last year's level.
