Hepatitis incidence in Belarus has decreased 2.5 times since the 2000s
Hepatitis incidence in Belarus has decreased 2.5 times since the 2000s. While over 10,000 cases were registered annually in the past, today the number is around 4,000. One of the main reasons for this decline is the implementation of WHO strategies and improved prevention. Vaccination remains the primary protection method: annually, more than 97% of children under one year old receive hepatitis vaccines.
