How is the restoration of the building progressing after the fire in Minsk?

Gas and electricity will be restored to the buildings affected by the major fire in central Minsk in the coming days.

Communal workers are conducting apartment-by-apartment inspections to assess the condition of the premises. More time is needed to dry out electrical panels before power can be restored. Builders are inspecting damaged areas; the top priority is to secure the site. The building belongs to the third category of historical and cultural significance. The entire roof must be dismantled and disposed of.

"We plan to start preparatory work today, followed by dismantling the burned structures. Our organization's task is to install a temporary roof and remove structures that could pose a threat to life," said Anatoly Vederychik, Director General of the Minskstroy State Production Association.

After the fire was extinguished, investigators began examining the site with the involvement of experts. Possible causes of the incident are not being disclosed yet; first, the results of forensic tests must be obtained.
