IFR forecasts migrant-origin population to become majority in several European countries
The Institute for Remigration (IFR) has predicted that the population with migrant origins will become the majority in several European countries within the coming decades. According to projections, Switzerland may be the first to reach this threshold in 2038, followed by Belgium (2044), Germany (2045), Sweden (2046), Austria (2052), the United Kingdom (2053), Spain (2057), and the Netherlands and Norway (2058). The model includes not only recent migrants but also those born in the country with migrant origins, such as individuals with one or both parents born abroad.
