In Belarus, penalties for insults, defamation, and other internet-related offenses can reach up to 10 years in prison. Fines of up to 200 base units, community service, or arrest are prescribed for insults and defamation. Defamation may also carry a prison term of up to 3 years; incitement of hatred and rehabilitation of Nazism — up to 5 years. The most severe punishment is for denying genocide with recidivism — from 3 to 10 years. Criminal liability also applies for illegal collection of personal data and false reports about danger.
