In Krichev District, the village of Poklady is nearly abandoned

In Krichev District, there is a village called Poklady — a dozen houses, almost all with broken windows and doors, and the only new residents are storks on the roofs. Locals say the reason for the abandonment is simple: the closure of the old farm led to job losses, and people moved away. These houses once housed workers of the dairy farm. Now, the farm plans to demolish the buildings, as the village is too far from the city. However, attempts to save Poklady continue: the houses are being offered as summer homes — the Sozh River is nearby, providing good conditions for rest. "People ask — we’ll give them away for minimal fees," say farm officials. If there’s interest, Poklady could come back to life.
