In Minsk, chestnut trees are dying en masse — leaves yellowing and drying in June
According to specialists, the trees are suffering from two factors at once. The first is the horse chestnut leaf miner moth, which damages the leaves from the inside. The second is marginal necrosis caused by urban conditions: chemicals, exhaust fumes, soil overheating, and lack of moisture.
As a result, chestnuts are losing their decorative appeal, weakening, and may eventually die.
