In Moldova, archaeologists find 25,000-year-old mammoth bone dwellings

In Moldova, archaeologists have discovered traces of mammoth bone dwellings dating back around 25,000 years at the Klimăuți-de-Jos II site.

The find was made as part of an international project involving specialists from Moldova, France, and the United Kingdom.

The Paleolithic site is considered one of the country's most important prehistoric monuments. Excavations at the site resumed in 2024, when researchers began searching for possible mammoth bone structures.
