Israeli PM Netanyahu proposes stripping citizenship for discrediting army

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has submitted draft laws to the Knesset proposing to strip citizenship and impose fines on those who discredit the military.

"We will protect our heroic fighters. We will strip citizenship from those who defame IDF soldiers and hit them financially," he wrote on social media.

Culture Minister Miki Zohar supported the statement. He previously suggested stripping filmmakers of citizenship for treason.
