Italy's Foreign Minister cancels US visit after Trump's comments on Meloni
Relations between the US and Italy have sharply deteriorated after former President Donald Trump made remarks about Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, which became the most discussed topic in the Italian segment of social media. Italy's Foreign Minister canceled his planned visit to the US and explained the decision in a social media post (screenshot attached). Trump said: "She [Meloni] begged me to take a photo with her! She really wanted to take a photo with me. I wouldn't have done it, but I felt sorry for her. She's probably happy that I talked to her! I wasn't obliged to talk to her!"
