Large-scale changes expected at Belarus Academy of Sciences — Lukashenko signs decree

Some scientific institutions will be merged or closed to eliminate duplication of functions and increase research efficiency. Requirements for academics will also change: candidates must be no older than 70, corresponding members no older than 60. Requirements for scientific achievements will also be strengthened.
