Latvia plans full ban on bus traffic with Belarus and Russia from 2027

Latvia plans to completely ban bus communication with Belarus and Russia from 2027. The draft law provides for a ban on regular, charter, and transit bus routes. The only currently operating regular route will be allowed until January 9, 2027; authorities do not plan to extend it. However, it will still be possible to travel through Latvia with a transfer in Lithuania or Estonia. The restrictions will not apply to minibuses.
